Beaumont Herd Welcome to the home of the prize winning Beaumont Herd of Red Poll Cattle. Our aim is to preserve a quality herd of this native breed and through careful husbandary and by providing them with best possible conditions produce quality, structurally correct beef cattle to satisfy various markets. Red Poll Beef Cattle Traditional British breeds of cattle, like the Red Poll, thrive in non-intensive, low input, natural farming environments, with a simple grass diet. They are well-adapted to life in our lush green countryside and ideal for grazing land managed to conserve wildlife habitats and encourage biodiversity. Meat from our native fed cattle typically has higher levels of polyunsaturated, omega-3 fats than more intensively reared, grain feed continental breeds. Red Poll beef is noted for exceptional tenderness, good marbling, fine grain, succulent texture and full flavour. Shows & Sales There are currently twenty three cattle in our herd and we are always looking to improve and diversify our bloodlines. With our small herd our show ring success could be somewhat limited however we have managed to be relatively successful in a short period of time. We have had successes at local & county shows taking First Prize with one of our Heifers at the Hadleigh Farmers Agricultural Association Show in May 2006 followed by a Second Prize at the Suffolk County Show. We try to show as much as possible as a means to promote our breed and beef cattle in general. This is a useful tool to compare with other breeds and take the opportunity to have independent opinions of our cattle. Our cattle do not go to market as we deal direct with our customers through the website or at Farmers Markets.
